The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team will hold training camp at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. from Tuesday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 6

“We are extremely appreciative of Athletic Director Scott Corley, Head Coach Casey Alexander and the Belmont Bruins basketball program for opening their facilities to our team,” said Pelicans Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations David Griffin. “We are excited to hold a competitive week of training camp practices and team activities in Nashville.”

During this time, the Pelicans’ training facility – Ochsner Sports Performance Center – will be completing the final phase of renovations.

“We are equally excited about the significant upgrades being made to our practice facility, which is yet another example of Mrs. Benson’s commitment to providing our players and staff with the most state-of-the-art amenities required to be successful,” added Griffin. “These improvements will enhance the overall experience in every facet of our basketball operation, and we look forward to returning to our new and improved training facility in mid-October.”

The Pelicans will hold Media Day on Monday, Sept. 30 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans prior to traveling to Nashville. Training camp practices will be held at the Crockett Center for Athletic Excellence on the campus of Belmont University from Oct. 1-6. All training camp practices are closed to the general public. Additional information regarding practice times and media availabilities will be distributed at a later date.

Following training camp, the team will return to New Orleans for their first preseason game against the Orlando Magic at the Smoothie King Center on Monday, Oct. 7. Tip-off is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CT.
