With a 93-83 win over Germany Saturday, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Serbia took home a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympics.

Bogdanovic, Serbia’s captain for the competition, finished with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and a game-high +/- rating of plus-23. Over the course of the six games of the competition, Bogdanovic averaged 18.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists while converting 46.2 percent of his three-point attempts.

Along the way, the 31 year old became the top scorer in Serbian national basketball team history.

After finishing as the runner-up in the FIBA World Cup in 2014 and 2023, as well as the 2017 EuroBasket and the 2016 Olympics, Bogdanovic expressed his pleasure at completing an international competition with a victory.

“When you stand on the podium, there is number one, number two, and number three,” he told the assembled media in Paris, “But in my experience, winning the bronze medal is way harder than “winning” the silver medal. I know on the podium it doesn’t look like that.”

Bogdanovic finished the competition with the third-most total points (110) trailing only his teammate, Nikola Jokic (113), and Germany’s Franz Wagner (111). He also finished in a tie for 2nd in total three-point shots made (18).

For his success in the competition, FIBA named Bogdanovic to its 2024 All-Second Team, alongside Wagner, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Guerschon Yabusele.

FIBA selected Jokic, Dennis Schroder, Stephen Curry, Victor Wembanyama, and LeBron James for its All-Star Five, with James also taking home the competition’s MVP award to go along with his Gold Medal.
